​About the Artist: Elwira Bernaciak

​

"Art comes from the heart, thoughts, and eyes, guiding the hand of the artist."

Originally from Poland and calling Ireland home since 2005, I am a Carlow-based artist whose work is a vibrant dialogue between emotion and texture. Since registering BElwira Art in 2015, my creative journey has expanded from local Irish landscapes to international exhibitions in Italy, France, England, and the USA.

Creative Philosophy & Style

My art is an intensive exploration of life's "cycles"

—much like the tides of the ocean or the changing seasons.

I classify my artworks as Modern Emotional Surrealism

-Abstract-Surrealist, unique 3D Bio-Organic technique with Realistic elements, often defined by:

​

• Rich Textures: Using gesso and modelling paste to create a tactile experience.

• Bold Layers: Multiple layers of acrylic and gold leaf that bring a unique depth to every canvas.

• Emotional Resonance: Every painting is a one-of-a-kind manifestation of strength and sensitivity.​

 

Recognition & Achievements

My work has been recognized both in Ireland and abroad through various prestigious platforms:

• International Publications: Awarded 1st place in the public vote for JaamZIN Creative Magazine (Jan 2019) for my painting "Sisters".

• Cultural Contributions: Featured in the "Polish Artists in Ireland" catalogue and a finalist in the "Artist Wanted" plebiscite by Radio TRD Dublin.

• The Written Word: In 2021, I published my motivational book, "Zawartość umysłu zabrana od serca" (Contents of the Mind Taken from the Heart), a personal story of finding power and resilience through creativity.

Workshops & Commissions

Art is a tool for wellbeing. As an experienced tutor, I lead relaxing art workshops in Carlow, sharing the healing power of painting with the community.

I also find great joy in commissioned work. Creating a bespoke piece for a client is a deeply personal process—I look for the "soul" of the buyer to ensure the final artwork brings harmony, comfort, and positive energy to their unique space.

Where Art Meets Literature

"I am deeply honoured that my painting, 'Get Out of the Shadow', was chosen to represent the soul of Conor Bowman’s poetry collection, 'Indigo Thumbprint'.

Having my art bridge the gap between visual expression and the written word is a testament to the emotional resonance I strive to capture in every piece I create."
