Revival – The Strength of a New Beginning
Discover the profound emotional depth of "Revival", a pivotal work from 2018. Originally exhibited at the Intermarium Gallery in Dublin and later featured in a pandemic showcase in Castlecomer, this painting is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit in the face of pain and illness.
The Story: From a Gift to a Rebirth
The inspiration for this piece came from a simple photograph of flowers Elwira once received during a difficult time. A small gesture of friendship became the spark for a grander vision. In this work, the Liliesa -symbol of purity and transcendence - sunflower —a symbol of warmth and hope—becomes the birthplace of a new self. The central female figure emerging from the bloom represents the struggle, the strength, and the ultimate "revival" of one's identity after surviving life’s darkest moments. The torn petals signify the battle fought to bloom again.Artistic Mastery:
Sculptural Texture: Using a palette knife and gesso, Elwira created a rich, 3D surface that emphasizes the raw energy of the "revival."Metallic Radiance: Touches of golden metallic paint and yellow tones symbolize the warmth of friendship and the light of a better tomorrow.
Museum-Quality Framing: This piece is presented in a large, elegant frame that elevates its symbolic presence, making it a centrepiece for any collection.
