About the Artwork
When I look at "Reflection", I see a deeply personal journey inward. It captures those quiet moments when we reflect on fleeting aspects of life—much like the graceful, transient flight of a butterfly in the ocean of our thoughts. I created this piece as a mirror of our existence, exploring inner transformation, peace, and spiritual evolution.
As part of my core collection "Fragments of Existence" (previewing this November at RDS Art Source Dublin, Stand L28), this striking work serves as a powerful focal point that brings both serenity and a touch of magic into your living space.
The Creative Process & Technique I built this piece with extensive textural depth, using heavy modeling paste and sand paste on a thick canvas (46 cm x 61 cm).
Framing: The artwork is professionally set in a sleek black float frame crafted locally here in Carlow by JK Frame (total framed dimensions 50x65 cm, depth 5.5 cm). 
Color & Texture: I layered rich acrylics to achieve a deep, "faded denim" look with shades of blue and pale turquoise.
Details: I added delicate gold paste highlights to the raised areas, then embellished the surface with genuine gold leaf and a touch of silver, all sealed with a protective varnish. The way the gold and silver shimmer in the sunlight is truly magical.
