Weather Anomaly

"Weather Anomaly" is a tactile "sculpture of life," part of the Fragments of Existence series. It is a physical record of a transformative journey through Türkiye, where the raw power of nature dictated every brushstroke.
The work was born from the awe of sudden climatic shifts—specifically a day when a massive sandstorm enveloped the world in a surreal, glowing orange haze. The sea and mountains vanished, leaving only a mystical, dust-filled atmosphere.
To translate this experience, I integrated genuine sand into the painting's structure, creating a gritty, organic relief.
The use of decorative gold and copper leaves captures the flickering sunlight struggling through heavy, storm-laden clouds. This piece is not just a painting; it is a view through a shimmering, orange-tinted window into a moment where the horizon simply ceased to exist.

A sleepless night! It was meant to be so beautiful, but the rain pours, the lightning cracks.
A Turkish climate—is this for real? I have yet to feel a shred of warmth.
Disappointment, surprise, and love—so many emotions in one place.
Morning arrives; one has to wake up just like this!
Anomaly—weather, or something of the heart?
I look around and the light shatters me into a thousand pieces.
A sandstorm!
The world is enveloped in a luminous orange—I see nothing else.
The turquoise of the sea blurs into the luminous orange of the wall.
The horizon disappears; the sky struggles to pierce this wall of holy sand.
A smile—I see it, but what is it? The glow of a sphere, or the moon chasing the sun?
No, it is the flicker in the windows of the orange storm, and lamps pretending to be the day.
This Turkish weather anomaly.
This sand is everywhere! An incredible vision, yet devoid of visibility.
Everything is orange now—even me, even my clothes.
Yet, I am savouring life, falling in love with the sheer beauty of being there.
